Welcome to our Music Ministry!
At Wylie UMC, music is an important part of our worship and community life. Whether you are an experienced musician or simply enjoy singing, there is a place for you.
Our music ministry provides opportunities for people of all ages and skill levels to grow spiritually, build friendships, and serve God through music. Through singing, ringing, playing, and worshiping together, we seek to live out Wylie UMC's commitment to:
Christ, Community, Connection, and Compassion.
Music is more than a performance—it is a ministry that helps us grow closer to Christ, build meaningful connections with one another, strengthen our church community, and share God's love and compassion through worship and service.
There Is A Place For You
You do not need to be a professional musician to participate in our music ministry.
Many of our members began with little or no formal experience. If you have a willingness to learn and a desire to serve, we would love to welcome you.
Whether you sing, play an instrument, ring bells, or simply want to explore a new way to serve, there is a place for you here.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is a vital part of our worship life, offering inspiring music that enriches our services and helps us draw closer to God. From traditional hymns to meaningful anthems, the choir leads our congregation in lifting voices together in praise.
The Chancel Choir leads worship in our traditional services on Sundays at 9am, and participates in special seasonal programs throughout the year.
Practices: Thursday evenings

Praise Band
The Praise Band is an important part of our worship experience, bringing energy and a modern sound to the 11 AM Contemporary Service.
With contemporary songs and uplifting music, the band helps create an atmosphere where all can encounter God in a fresh and meaningful way.
If you play an instrument or love to sing, this is a wonderful way to share your talents, grow in your musical abilities, and connect with other musicians. The Praise Band is a welcoming and creative community, and we would love for you to join us.

Sunshine Stringers Ukulele Choir
Learning an instrument can feel intimidating, but our Ukulele Choir, "Sunshine Stringers" provides a fun and welcoming environment for musicians of all skill levels!
The Sunshine Stringers performs several times each year during Sunday worship and at community events.
Practices: Sunday afternoons and evenings (alternating)

This welcoming group is open to all ages and skill levels. Whether you are a seasoned musician or picking up an instrument for the first time, you will find a supportive space to learn and grow together.
Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir brings a unique and beautiful sound to worship through the ringing of handbells and chimes. Their music adds a peaceful and uplifting dimension to our traditional services, creating moments of reflection and joy.
