You can see our menu of worship service times by clicking here. Worship is a time to solidify a connection with God, though Christ, and grow in fellowship with other people. We realize trying something new can be a little scary. We want to do everything we can to put you at ease. Here are a few of “frequently asked questions” asked by guests.
What should I wear?
...whatever you feel comfortable in. You will see everything from t-shirts to business suits. Right from the start, we want you to know that Wylie United is about who you are on the inside not what you look like on the outside.
Is there a nursery during worship?
Yes, the nursery is for those two and under. Caring staff members supervise the nursery at the 9:30, and 10:45 a.m. worship services. Our goal is to provide a secure and loving environment for our young ones so that they may grow in the grace and love of Jesus Christ. Children are an important part of the life and ministries in Just as Jesus received and accepted children, we seek to do the same. Older children will worship with parents. What is worship like at Wylie UMC?
Everyone worships God differently. This is why we have 2 worship services on Sundays. One service (9:30 am) is traditional in style with time honored liturgy. The other service, (10:45 am) is modern or contemporary in nature with inspiring and uplifting music.
What will I be expected to do in worship?
You will not be pressured to give money or join the church, so relax and focus on experiencing worship. We'll sing songs to express our love for God and the words will be on the screens so you can sing along if you want to. You will have ample time to communicate with God through prayer, sing songs to His glory and hear from His Word.
What are the United Methodist sacraments Wylie UMC practices?
There are two sacraments the United Methodists Church understands as significant for a growing and healthy church. You will see Christian sacraments such as baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
